Hardman Farm History
This historic site was originally owned by Captain James Nichols, but in the 1870s, it was purchased by Colonel William F. "Frank" Hardman, who later became a prominent politician in Georgia. Under Hardman's ownership, the farm grew to encompass over 1,200 acres and a number of additional structures were built, including a dairy barn, a carriage house, and a spring house.
Today, Hardman Farm is managed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources as a historic site, and visitors can take a guided tour of the main house, as well as the other historic buildings on the property.
